Elaine Elinsky
Painter
I am an oil painter working in a contemporary, impressionistic style. I use color, shape and brushstrokes to create dynamic works of art which are described as ‘painterly and arresting.’ While my primary medium is oil, I also work with acrylic paints and mixed media when I feel the subject calls for this approach.
I come from a family of creative individuals. My father was a talented wood carver who created carousel horses and a variety of other playful and colorful wood sculptures and wall hangings. My brother is a well-know stained glass artist in England. His studio in London produces both traditional and contemporary windows for public and private spaces. Like the other members of my family, I love the process of creating art.
I am a studio artist at the Artist’s Atelier in Great Falls, Virginia and am represented by Chasen Gallery in Richmond Virginia.
